Default Waterfall in an Akula?

Back in SC I would play with an Akula with a Seawolf sonar interface. I just copied and pasted the sonar files from the Seawolf interface to replace the Akulas sonar interface and everything worked.

I do this with DW and everything works except my TA. Anyone tried this or any advice? Maybe just not possable with DW.

You see I like the Akula as a platform but not so much its FRAZ...

I think it should have had at least a "water drain" history instead of what there is now.

The problem about the TA is probably related to port/starboard towed array.
Either this value is set to the "other" sensor, which doesn't exist on the akula (see fix below), or the value isnt set at all (because the SW ship control isn't loaded)

As for possible fixes, editing the database and moving the towed array to the opposite slot might work. (Lugders editor shows what slots are for what)

Editing the database will hamper online play, but the interface change you've already done will pretty much do the same anyway. Always take backups of files you're changing or replacing.

Thanks MaHuJa, tried that but didnt work. For me (limited skills) changing anything in 'object Dialog' at the bottom (sensor, launcher or airstrip slots) only applys to AI units.

SSAZ (Signal Strength vs AZimuth) = BB
FRAZ (FRequency vs AZimuth) = NB

I raised this question a short time ago and I think it was Fish who implied that it was not possible in DW.

Funny how those people wanting 'realism' in the sim can turn a blind eye to desirable game mods.

Me ? Guilty too !

They do. Sonalysts may have had difficulty intergrating the waterfall in the Akulas or they may have simply retained the SSAZ for 'flavor' purposes.
