Default Seagulls and AI ASW

OK a stretch here but I have seen this more than once.

lurking about in shallows night or day I find myself more likely to have intercepts sent my way if those birds are flying about my scope.

in real life their may be some justification for this - I went whale watching from Olafsvik, Iceland about 50km out towards blue water North Atlantic a few years ago.

I asked the Captain how do they find the whales?

Besides the pattern of feeding - three things he uses, 1. a listening device, (I am guessing like a hydrophone), a good watch crew 3. gulls/birds; he said watch they will always be near where they are feeding to fetch up chum/debris - he said the killer whales are easiest to locate this way.

I wonder aloud if there is any correlation in SH3?

LOL maybe the gulls think my type VII is a grey whale?
