update problem

i reinstall my game and i want update game...but i cant

error:"This program cannot update installed version of silent hunter III EMEA DVD v1.0 because of the fallowing reason
c:\games\silent hunter III\data\menu\de_hel.txt : unknow vesion"

Be sure you are installing the correct patch. If that is indeed the case you could do the following (successful for most people):

- Uninstall SHIII
- Delete the remainders of the SHIII programm directory
- Reboot
- Install SHIII 1.0
- Install the 1.4b patch

That should work
