First a little "woot" for the rescuing of the seven Russian lads.
Then... Loch Ewe. Been sneaking around this port since day one, never really making it close enough to get into it. Well, now I am within twenty kilometres or so. There's a destroyer in the long, narrow inlet that worries me. There are also numerous armed trawlers, but I allow myself not to worry too much about them. I have spotted a Fiji dozing with anchor down just WEST of the actual port. THis means that a tiny bit of land is stopping me from firing like a madman.. The questions are: What way to avoid the destroyer? And are armed trawlers good hunters? Will they ping/listen?

And upon your departure left a hell of a mess. I see how I was wrong.

patience is the name of the game.
its not tricky to get a good haul at lock ewe if you take your time and plan everything. but try the raid in mid 1942, if you wait until late 1943 it will be much harder. i once sank every ship inside and 4 escorts out side the lock some time ago. 6 DD's in total, a couple of carriers and cruisers. and a armed trawler. of course 4 ships beaching themselves onto scottish shores helped a bit.

Destroyers running aground have had a huge impact on the war effort. :rotfl:

Care should be taken to avoid the minefield at Loch Ewe.

the sub net is a pain, but ive never encountered the minefield.
ive been to ewe about 7 times from 1941 to 1944 and have yet to see a mine.
