Eh?
Depth? What do you mean, really? Radar works on surface. Underwater its sonar all the way. You mean Depth below keel?

Read some of the Radar Discussions already on the board. Seem that its kinda funky right now and hard to use. That might help you out a little.

The absence of this sort of thing is something that really ****s me. It's just downright sloppy/lazy/incompetent.
Rant over...... |

Well, as long as you are comparing with SH1, then is the high periscope modeled? Meaning periscope used while surfaced had the longest spotting range. Also, periscope at periscope depth had a fairly limited spotting range.

I know this is a very old post. But I have the actual info for who ever comes here looking at this late.
There is no keyboard command. BUT, if you come to periscope depth, THEN go to an external view you can SEE the radar dish, and where it is mounted. Then surface a little more, again with external view, and wait for that antenna to breech the surface. When it does, NOTE the depth guage. That will be your RADAR Depth for THAT model sub. Different subs had different rigs. On the Porpoise Class, which I am messing with as I write this. It is located on top of the conning tower between the two periscope masts. With a depth of 35 feet that clears the surface of the water. I can then go to the radar shack internal to the sub and manually turn the two radar screens on with the on screen switches, and those danged things WORK. Some Later Sub models mounted that radar dish on the periscope mast itself but lower than where the lenses are at the top. So coming to periscope depth, and a little more shallow will bring them above the surface, and things can be made to work. But I think this "Pro" hack is in such a condition that you MUST go to the radar shack and turn the radars on manually. |
