Question about the BB HMS Renown

Dear Kaleuns, a bit of help to understand the following is required...

I see that the ship NBB_Renown is present in the Sea folder and it includes all the necessary files, it is also present in the Englishnames.CFG file, but strangely, its file is missing in the Roster/British/Sea folder....
BTW, I found this issue in Onealex V1.52 mod, but I don't know if this happens in any mod or it is just an exclusive situation

Did I manage to delete that file or is there a reason for this?

Renown file needs to present in British roster
If you delete it and career campaign file calls this ship… CTD

That's correct, Fifi. However, I think I found out the answer...
In the EnglishNames.cfg file you can see these 2 entries:

BBRenown=BB Renown class
BCRepulse=BC Renown class

So I think in the SCR and/or RND files only the Repulse class is scripted, and that's the reason why there is never a CTD, because the Renown is not used at all.
However, it would be nice to have both ships available, but I think the reason behind is that they are basically the same...

Renown Displacement=48360
Repulse Displacement=48360

I've also decompressed another copy of V.1.52 and the Renown file is not present in the Roster/British/Sea folder. I am glad to know it's not my mistake...

Also, does anyone know where can I d/l this ship from as a stand-alone mod?

I noticed this as well, and I created a .cfg file from scratch in British roster file, everything is there but it's like he forgot or intended it to be missing.

I've looked for the Renown in the downloads section but it's not there...
Could you please tell me if you used another .cfg file as guide? Or could you share it? If you can it would be great!

Sorry my friend, I’m not using his mod anymore, so don’t know…

Look closer at the Roster cfg file, and see if it doesn't point to a different Sea folder...

@kyle9154: Looks like the Repulse file can be copied and renamed since both are very similar....

The Roster file of the Renown is missing

If you open the Renown files with S3D you'll find out that it's a clone of the Repulse. Probably a placeholder by the mod author. It's not called in any of the campaign files, as HMS Renown is played in that mod by the Repulse.

There is a nice HMS Renown for SH3 ported from SH5 by Rowi58 I think, if you know how to edit the campaign files. I use it myself in SH4 and it looks great.

Then it is as suspected... the Renown itself is not used in the campaign files but it's the Repulse playing the role of the Renown.
I will see if I can find the Renown from Rowi58 you mention.
