about torpedo appearance

Any mod edit the torpedo skin or tell me how the torpedo skin system works in the game.
I want to know whether this works in game:
D:\SilentHunter3\LSH3-2020-SP\data\Textures\TNormal\tex\Torpeda_Selfillum.tga

IF I edit this image will change color of torpedo ?
One way change its color is in the file like NSS_Uboat7c.dat ,but it is just a thumbnail and I find the torpedo will be white body in carreer game.
