Intercept Malta Convoy

Hi All

Doing the Italian Campaign and i'm on the mission where you have to intercept the convoy bound for Malta but nothing is appearing anywhere near the point on the map. Has anyone else done this one?

Ahoy there,well first of all are you playing stock silent hunter 5 or with any mods?

Position and speed and direction given?

Mark the spot, draw a course line, check the time you received the contact report. Is it an hour or more since you got the message, the convoy has moved.

Take tour own boat and speed and course, mark it. Calculate at which time the convoy is where.

Calculate an intercept course for your ship.

Example. Convoy X, speed 5kts, location D, course W.

You are south of it. If you sail to its mentioned location it is not there anymore. So you need to plot a course in front of the convoy.

1 kts = 1.852 kph.

Distance traveled in km divided by speed in kmh = time traveled

Speed in kmh = kts times 1.852

Then you can start calculating gow long it will take tje convoy as well as yourself to reach a certain intercept point.

On that basis you can decide to go for it or let it go.
