GWX 3 no planes spotted at all 1939-01.1940

One question: I installed SH 3 plus the latest GWX plus the ARB 1920x1080 mod which runs perfect.

I started a brand new career with the first flotilla in August 1939 and I am having my 7th patrol in January 1940. Till now I haven`t seen one enemy airplane.
I even went directly to the british coastline from Scotland till down in the south.

Is this a bug or intended?

IMHO you should be happy about that!
In the early months of war all the ASW-forces seem to not knowing how to deal with the "U-boat peril". As for the RAF I assume they were quite busy to counter the threat of bomb-raids of the Luftwaffe, "Adlertag" and soon....
Be rest assured, later in the war you´ll be content to just be on the surface long enough to recharge your batteries.

I don´t think it´s a bug.

High time compression settings can also affect the plane spotting. Sometimes in very bad ways, as when the computer knocks you out of time compression with an attacking plane 1 km from your boat.

Usually I don`t use high time compression close to the British coast. I was only wondering that no planes at all are encountered.

In SH5 +plus Wolfes of Steel I had several encounters already in 1939 and that happened already way before the coastline. (500 km-1000km)

I play SH3 with GWX all the time and that's the one downfall of the game not enough aircraft even in May 1943 I'm able to run on the surface through the bay of Biscay, sure you will get an occasional aircraft but all in all they are very few and far between the most annoying aircraft attacks are the ones when they attack you just as you are leaving port which happens generally after June1943 your not even safe in the uboat bunker!.

In terms of aircraft attacks that's one thing that old aces of the deep was better at modelling.
