Default I've returned! (again?)

Hi everyone!

Its been a while since I've frequented this site but after getting back into SH4 (slowly but surely) I've been looking to update my installs and see what I've been missing!

And boy, do I have some awesome news. When I joined this site back in 2007 I was a gawky high schooler who spent way too much time reading history books and writing short stories about submarines and tanks and airplanes instead of doing their homework. Fast forward 11(!) years later, and I've kinda hit it big. I landed a job working at the main office for the Collings Foundation, I'm starting part-time but the plan is to change that before the end of this year. It turns out that my time studying Military history in high school and years following has led me to be ideally suited to be here, where we are putting the final touches on the American Heritage Museum, with tanks and vehicles inherited from the Jacques Littlefield tank collection from California. For now though I work up here scheduling bomber rides on the Wings of Freedom tour and screen calls for the other office folk, including the CEO, Rob, and the founder of the foundation, Bob.
(oh its fun trying to figure out who someone is trying to reach sometimes)
((also fun is when you end up interacting with this one guy named "Duke" Cunningham, some vietnam fighter ace or something ))

So if you guys ever call the office there's a chance you can reach me, and if you visit the museum or the Battle for the Airfield event (coming up in October!) You'll even see me in person!

Glad to see Subsim hasn't really changed, it's safe to say this site has remained a constant in my life, and I've always appreciated its existence! (Perhaps this year I'll finally make a donation )

Sledge

Welcome back and congratulations on the job. Sounds pretty cool.

Thank you Jim, Crank!

Indeed, its great fun to go play with a Panther on my lunch breaks (though my favorite is the M4A3E2 Jumbo,) and chat with warbird lovers about getting a ride on a bomber!

Sounds like a real dream job, getting paid to something you'd gladly do anyway.

I actually called looking into volunteering on any days off I might have had, and on a whim, knowing I was moving into the area, I asked if they had a job available. Luckily I had 6 months of office work under my belt as a security supervisor at my old job and the interest/knowledge in military hardware, my now boss said "it didn't make sense to hire anyone else, welcome aboard!"

It funny, I used to get calls from people asking if we had their cell phones (security handled the lost and found at my casino) and now I get calls from USAF Colonels asking if they can talk to my boss about this SCUD missile launcher that needs inspection
