V1.4b Unknown Version Error

Hey All,
First off, its good to be back in the saddle. Thanks very much to a fantastic community and all the hard work on these great mods! Lots of beer needs to be bought for all of you. But, more realistically I will be contributing more $$$ to the Sub Sim site.
Returning to SH3 from a long break. I bought a new (very needed) high-end computer and trying to update my SH3 V1.4 to 1.4b and receiving the following error;
SH3\data\Menu\de_menu.txt unknown version
I have done several clean reinstalls of SH3 (yes – removed ALL old SH3 folders and data) with no joy.
I’m using a downloaded copy of SH3 and am using the correct copy of the 1.4b updater. Many years ago, I was running SH3 v1.4b on my old computer with no problems. Could this be a Windows 10 thing?
Any ideas?
