Trying to create a new home base. I have the Flotilla.upc correct, for PT campaign all of the works.I start a patrol in correct location, except can only fuel and arm there, cant end patrol. In fact, no tilter anchor anywhere now.
I have base placed in USNavalBases.mis file in campaign, saved as scripted layer. Like I said base shows up, can use it, just cant end patrol now. Any ideas? Im lost and its holding things up. |

You can always start at a normal home base ,, and refuel hop to an operation area ,, since we don't have a tender to tow or do we ,, I'd could live that,, that would be fairly realistic,, better than unlimited fuel

Do you remember a few months back when we lost the "Home" port in Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate? It was an edit in the US_NavalBases.mis file. I'd go back in there, and double-check what you did. Pay particular attention to your numbering. I'm in the middle of a re-numbering nightmare right now with the Jap_HarborTraffic split files, and I'm about to take to the manual typing in of over 30,000 edits for each of five more files, due to all sorts of failures with all things concerning "modern" Windows and my old WinXP tools that are supposedly "compatible" with Windows 10 even. Not so, at least not with all the updates they've done over the last couple of months. I wouldn't even call it compatible with Windows 7, if you want to add in the VBScripting or a Common Dialog box. They just don't "stick" to the project... I'm going to my dual-boot computer next, and make me an application in there. To heck with this shtinking "modern" Windows garr-bojj...
Anyway, enough of that. Use one of the other bases as a "model" for what you're doing. [Unit 1] Name=Pearl Harbor Class=NavalBase Type=407 Origin=American Side=0 Commander=0 CargoExt=-1 CargoInt=-1 CfgDate=19380101 DeleteOnLastWaypoint=false DockedShip=false GameEntryDate=19380101 GameEntryTime=0 GameExitDate=19451231 GameExitTime=0 EvolveFromEntryDate=false Long=-18954996.000000 Lat=2561680.000000 Height=7.758328 Heading=0.000000 Speed=0.000000 CrewRating=3 DelayMin=0 ReportPosMin=-1 ReportPosProbability=100 SecondsUntilReport=-2.462462 HighPrioContact=false RandStartRadius=0.000000 TacticalUnit=false AvailStartDate=19380101 AvailEndDate=19451231 NextWP=0 Pay close attention to your "[Unit XXX]" number. Set the dates to co-incide with your CareerStart and Flotilla files. Be sure you've got it in a usable location, not underwater, and not at the top of a cliff. Zoom in on the map, and also look at the "Height=X.xxxx" line. Put the new one at the END of the file, else you have to renumber from where you put it in. You also cannot skip numbers (I just found that out the hard way)... You don't need to add scripted ships such as tenders or tankers or supply ships, but having them appear to come and go is cool.

Do you have the SH3 Mission Editor guide? SH4 ME works the same, it's a good guide. There may be a SH4 guide too but I've always used the SH3 PDF when using the ME.
I find hand editing some things easier and just use the ME for lat & long numbers, placing docks and bases etc. These links may help: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=158234 Your problem not having a tilted anchor Home Port is probably something simple. Pearl is always a home port to its subs throughout the entire War and would be a good model to follow to set up your PT Boat home port.. Just change the location lat long, the departure points, and the Flotilla of course. This is in: Data\Campaigns\Campaign\Campaign_LOC.mis or USNavalBases.mis depending on what type of port it will be. Also edit the Flotilla's and CareerStart upc's to include your PT boat bases and home ports. Edit: looks like propbeanie and I were answering at the same time. |

I'm just faster 'cause I'm younger than you aanker (I think)...
![]() Unfortunately, the link for the ME does not work... I've got a v17 pdf on my computer, if you want it Bubblehead1980. I thought it was in the Downloads section, but I can't find it... I'm probably goin' blind in my young age... although they dont' speak too much about campaigns and NavalBases in there anyway.

Yes, you're probably younger .... lol
Anyhow: Forget the Mission Editor PDF's. Every one including the 70 page guide focuses on making Missions and I think you already know everything about that. Peabody wrote several replies to fitzcarraldo's question: "How to add a campaign start in New London". It has the information you're looking for about creating a home port base, flotilla's, missions assigned, etc How to add a campaign start in New London http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=191643 (most helpful for your situation I think) How to add docks and ships http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=182617 How to add docks and ships http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=192665
