Default Text size at high res...

Ahoy fellow captains!
I'm having an issue that I hope someone can help me out with. I play my game on a gaming laptop, with my 47" flat screen as my monitor (about 5-6 feet away). I have the game set to run at 1920x1080 resolution (I like to use my whole screen). The game looks and runs fine at this resolution. However, I have an issue with the text size being way too small to read. This is especially a problem when trying to read distances and angles in the charts.

Is there a way that I can make the numbers on the charts easier to read, while still remaining "full screen"?

Is that the "native" resolution of the monitor? Are you using an HDMI cable between the computer and monitor? DVI? VGA? Is the text too small, or just "out of focus"? Does the display look better from about 10-12 feet away?

I believe it's the native resolution (but to be honest, I'm not sure). I am using an HDMI. It's just too small. I don't think it's out of focus (but it could be a little out). I'll have to look closer when I get home. From 10-12 feet away, I wouldn't be able to read the text at all. The overall display (meaning everything other than text on the maps) looks great no matter the distance. However, come to think of it, the text on the scrolling message center (where you get text prompts from crew, etc.. Is rather small too and appears slightly out of focus.

Try to find the documentation for your monitor, and see what the "native" resolution is. That's what they built the machine to use. You might end up having to use a "windowed" mode in SH4 that is close to what you want. The HDMI cabling should get you the best possible picture, but may present other issues later. What is your laptop's "native" resolution? Do you have the monitors for both set up for "1" and "2", with 2 being the TV monitor, repeating screen 1? Or do you have them set up as "1" "2" and two displays the game, while 1 displays the desktop? Both screens might be able to have their own settings for resolution, depending upon your Windows version, the display card and the driver version...
