Default Star Trek: Academy - The Movie

Almost twenty years - and I had no clue that this was out there.

Glued together from the cutscenes of that old gem of a game from 1997 - over two hours! For some reason, that opening adress by Kirk always has impressed me. I never have seen much more of that game anyway, I did not had the means to run it when it was actual. But that openign scene I have seen many times.

Just never the rest of those two hours.

Damn... David Forester and his gang! Plus Klingon Academy story, now that's something great!

ST academy game...you know, I only got the game when I went to Sweden to in the exchange program that my high school had. Only in a PC game store in Stockholm I found that game (here was non existence); I had money for more ST games and saw them, but only took that one.

When the games had actors playing roles and a story, great times...

The game was ridiculously hard even on easy.

The cheesy acting actually added to it. I don't know but real actors actually make cut scenes even better in my opinion and you had the feeling of really talking to Kirk, Chekov and co.

However the game had a short coming IMHO as the combat was more like wing commander rather than Star Trek like.

Actually it's two games: Star Fleet Academy and Klingon Academy.

Did you do the last mission with the Enterprise?

Indeed I did and never truly understood how it worked reliably. Sometimes I got attacked by the Klingons and sometimes not...

As if Plummer as Chang wasn't awesome enough, Warner arrives as Gorkon.

I have seen pieces of this but really had no idea what it was . This really is interesting. Thanks for posting this video.

It's nice to see that it included the original score music by James Horner. It's hard to believe he is gone. His music always captured the essence of the movie and is sorely missed.
