Hi
Well, I've hit that age, 40-something, and my once 20-10 eyesight is now f&*ked. I'm struggling - even on my 27" iMac screen to read the lines in the compass / protractor and the tiny a## text on the ruler etc. Is there a mod (that won't blow up TWOS) that increases the size / readability of this game generated text, and also the images of all the tools, so that I don't have to squint or start wearing my granny-glasses? Please, don't let me keep feeling old! ![]() |

If you wanted the cursors in the EQuaTools mod even bigger you could load them into a paint program and simply increase their size using the scaling tools in said paint program. I would recommend only increasing by 2x, that way the one which has the the grid range circles inside the compass tool would still match the chart/TAI scale properly. I was thinking about doing this myself as my res in 2560x1440 and even the large tools in that mod are quite small on my screen. You would have to rescale every .tga file in the data/Menu/MouseCurs folder. There are 5 of them.
This is all theory BTW as I haven't done it yet. I imagine any decent Paint program could do the job as long as it can preserve the transparency in the original .tga file. |

You're right, good call.
E.g. I use the EQuatool "Large Style" option. All the .tga's are 566x566 size images, and the Mouse.cfg for the 5 named cursors are like [Cursor 14] Name=CompassExt XO=282 YO=283 So looks like if you day doubled the size of the tga file, you would need to double the YO value, and double the XO value and I guess subract 1? |

Great help and advice Captains!
![]() I see from the mod thread that there was an intention for 'huge' tools. Does anyone know if this is still coming? I'll install and see what difference this makes before trying my hand at 'modding a mod'. However does any of this address the dynamic tiny degrees and range texts that appear when using them? Or is that something TDW's uber configuration hacker can do? |
