Hi mate,
I don't know if there is a "best" depth to use hydrophones, I usually stay at 40~60 meters and it's fine. SS, or SSS, means "submarine". You can see (if you're using GWX), early in the war, a lot of messages from torpedoed ships that says SSS at some point. Yes, it's possible to refuel from ships and "milk cows" in game, you just have to get close to them, and the weather must be good, otherwise you can't "dock" with them. And I think that this youtuber was using a patch from H.sie which enables you to dock in sea while still retaining your original patrol grid, tonnage renown. Any doubts, feel free to ask. Regards, Reed

Hi mate,
SS means Screw Steamer, but is often understood to stand for Steam Ship. MV stands for Motor Vessel. And yes, SSS is a code for "submarine" Regards, Reed
