Issues getting 1920x1080 using wine on linux

Hi there folks, I've been getting into try SH3 again and with the mods that are designed for 16x9 aspect ratios, I used the exe patch that also adds d3d9.cfg for resolution adjustment. The patched exe works in windows but when I run the same exe in linux using wine it defaults back to 1024 x 768 and the GUI is unusable.

Has anyone had SH3 running in anything other that 1024x768 on linux, or does anyone know how to force openGL resolutions per program?
