Dumb Question - playable Perry Class and Radio Messages

Sorry guys - this is a dumb question - where/how do you receive radio messages on the playable Perry Class frigate?

I don't think there's any screen for it that I can think of. I think it'll only show up in the Radio menu in the chat area. And you're in constant comms in the Perry since you're on the surface so it should come in as soon as it was sent.
