Seems to me we're already beat out on this though; I saw this stunning vessel anchored in San Francisco and posted in 'Favorite ships" Owned by Andrey and Aleksandra Melnichenko, Russian billionaire and built in Kiel for $300,000,000.

twelve planned

leaves these new submarines
coming in around 2027

more like 2030 as slow as they have been
one more accident would slow that time frame down

Not anyone wants to see an accident

I wonder what the men, the crew of officers and men
think when they are out there on patrol.

Is it a hide and seek war mentality for all of the submarine navies of the world?
