Default 6 unique fire stations from around the world

http://industrialhousingsolutions.co...und-the-world/

As you scroll through these, you'll find my fire department well represented. I was assigned to Lexington Station 16 for several years.

The one at Disney is not really hidden it is just off one the main roads through the property. Actually you cant miss it they used a bad shot of it. People stop to take photos all the time a buddy worked at that station. There are 4 stations #4 is a bit diffrent as well.

The Margreid, Italy station must be the most unique

Ponce, Puerto Rico “Parque de Bombas de Ponce” wouldn't look out of place at Legoland

Station 16 looks more like a Hobbitt hole than a cave.

I agree, you're not the first to make the Hobbit hole joke, and that was before the Lord of the Ring movies. This picture was taken after I had left the station. When I was there, the bay doors had wood fronts finished to have a rough look to them. There were bushes along the front up top and along the retaining walls on each side. There was also a tree in the planting area between the bay and station house. The bushes saved my butt many times while cutting grass. Inside, it's made up of two concrete domes. One has a skylight at the top, the other has a vent system for the bay. The back entrance is by a tunnel. It was a neat idea, but as a living quarters, it actually was awful. Think about living in a leaky basement. Wolferz, I'm sure you've driven by it a few times.

Lexington FD is on another list.

Another fire station list, this time haunted.

http://industrialhousingsolutions.co...his-halloween/

Fire station 4 is Lexington's oldest station. It's one of 3 horse and buggy stations still open. The fire dept has spent a lot of money to keep the bay with the old look. It has a brick floor, real tongue and groove wood where appropriate. It has the original cast iron circular staircase. I have been told the horse feed storage bin is still there and oats are still being found in corners (I know, the believablilty factor on this is very low). The bin is now just used for general storage.

More than a few I suspect. I may have even rolled trucks out of there. By accident of course. Nursing home maintenance guys aren't overly intelligent and fire alarm dialers are unforgiving.

I had forgotten until now. When I was there, Engine District 16 was known as Nursing Home Hell and Apartment Complex Hell. Not a shift would go by that we weren't at a nursing home for a fire alarm. I couldn't tell you how many large apartment building fires I was on during my time there.

IIRC, station 16 was on Nicholasville Road?

I used to live in one of Palumbo's complexes, until my daughter got us evicted with her sass talk.

No doubt. It was Palumbo himself who gave the heave ho order after my daughter sassed one of the security guards for kicking her out of the indoor pool. Palumbo was drinking at the bar at the time. She told the guy; "Bite me!" Palumbo was an apparent hater of children and prone to over reaction.
