Ammunition for deck guns

Running GWX 3rd patrol everything OK except no ammunition for deck gun, Help please
Last patrol had U GUNv5 in JSME and found it a bit over the top.
every ship I encountered on the surface including a 12 vessel convoy on manning deck gun sunk all with a rapid fire 16 ships in all and only one torpedo for entire patrol a bit over the top if you ask me I have taken it off for next patrol this is when I found no ammo for gun
