I don't know if this has been discussed before, but if you are in a Type IX and making war on the Americans, try loitering around the north coast of Cuba, specifically north off the east end of the island. There are a bunch of T3 Tankers that run ese-wnw courses along Cuba, usually 30-50KM off the north coast. You know what that means:TONNAGE! I assume they are running back and forth between the US and Venezuela. Seems like around two a day or more come cruising by. Sometimes smaller tankers, too. This is the second patrol I've hunted this area to good avail. It is August of '42.

I like to head into Curacao, down south. It is one of their destinations. A deep water refuelling port, a veritable tonnage "el dorado".
Just try to get there with some good visibility, because when the fog sets in it's atrocious.

That's true, but a little too much naval traffic for my taste. I haven't encountered any warships along the north coast of Cuba. YET. I suppose sooner or later they will send someone down there to sniff around. I've left a string of dead red all along the north coast.

I like hunting off the East coast of Florida in the narrow straits. Everything funnels through there, so there is never a lack of targets.

If you want, head up to the gulf where Swansea is during 1940-41. There are TONS of unescorted large cargoes up there, and nary a warship to stop you from shelling the to bits. An added bonus is that they always seem to carry fuel or ammunition, so there are an equal number of booms to enjoy.

I've gotten 3 Iron crosses, second class, 12 uboat clasps, and a plethora of other decorations for my crew on my first patrol from Lorient. Tonnage was over 150000 tons for only ten days at sea. Just watch for pesky Spitfires.

BF14 is busy. There is always something to have a pop at normally sailing east or west. Its in the western approaches and is close to where the convoy routes all converge south of ireland. If im having a quiet patrol I head there. Post February 1943 its definitely hairy and definitely Charlies Point so be careful. Same goes for anywhere west of Gibraltar as far as Casablanca, busy with shipping pre 1943 busy with hunting aircraft and other ASW minded enemies post 1943. Before France has been invaded Casablanca port is an easy way to get 20,000grt. Sink both trawlers one patrolling in the offing and another moored in port. Then you can surface and pick off the merchants at your lesuire. It is a bit boring but if cant face heir admiral with a blank its a good place to go.
