SH5 manual TDC controls at periscope station

First off I didn't know U-boats even had TDC's.
Even the british were sailing on our Pacific Fleet boats to get training on ours.
How come some tutorial videos like this one has the TDC on the scope screen:

And others like this one don't?:

Is the TCD on the periscope screen a mod for SH5?

Yes there are several mods which add the TDC dials, TDW New UIs is the most popular.
