Beware.....newbie afloat.......

Hello to you all,

First off thank you for taking the time to read this post in the first place, its always nice to get encouragement when you emabark in unfamiler waters !!

I used to be a member a good while back when I played Silent Hunter 2, and was always hugely impressed with the efforts this forum and its community put into supporting both the games, but more importantly the players themselves.

Well its time to return to the virtual waters once more - I am starting off gently and have ordered Silent Hunter 4 - Gold edition to get my feet wet.

I will be adding a few mods to it as I progress along -I quite like the idea of commanding one of the larger U-boats and it appears to be a stable game as well.

I am looking foreward to getting to grips with all the settings and navigation bits and bobs - but will have to keep the water wings on for a bit yet .....

I will also need to remember all those nautical terms as well - port, starbourd and avast behind - no, hang on thats the Wife!!

I intend to trawl through the forum to find answers to the many questions I am sure I will have- but my well pop up with a few requests for help as I go further along the game timeline -be warned !!

Okay enough for now - down periscope !!

As my grandmother used to say......It always gets darker before it goes completly black..............
