I really love the Silent Hunter series, I'm wondering if it would be worth it to attempt to get it and play on my laptop. I know I will need mods for it to be fun, and realistic(ish) and I'm just wondering if my laptop could even handle running the game and the mods.
My specs are as listed: 4Gb Ram AMD E-450 w/ Radeon HD Graphics 1.65 GHz (Internal Graphics) Windows 8 64 Bit Plenty of HDD Space. (running a partition) Thanks. |

I'd probably say not 5*, but try 3 or 4.
![]() * I say 5 because that's the forum you're posting this in and so the one you actually want an answer for.

Silent Hunter 5 would not run well on integrated graphics and with small amounts of RAM as the Graphics Card takes the System RAM to use itself, therefor lowering how much RAM you have in total. Utilizing Virtual Memory will also damage performance unless you have a hard disk with a very fast read/write speed.
A processor with 1.65GHz will probably suffer extensive heating problems and that's if it even runs. I would not recommend you play Silent Hunter 5 on this machine. |
