Hi Res Fix not fixing my res issue =p

Hi guys Ive been trying to get the Hi res mod to work on my computer for 2 days now and thought Id ask you guys before I lose my sanity.

My computer specs are:
Win 7 home premium edition 64bit
AMD FX 8320 4.0 ghz
8 gigs of RAM
Silent Hunter 3 steam version with GWX mod

I download the mod then extract the files into a temp folder, copy and paste the related files into the SH3 directory, run the install program, change the resolution in the cfg file then try and start the game and nothing happens. Then if I change the screen resolution to 1280x960 the game will start but it looks like someone is holding a magnifying lens in front of my screen. Everything is blown up by 1000 percent.
