Well I got some Amazon gift cards for Christmas and plan on getting SH3. Thing is should I order the physical copy (A.K.A the CD version.) or get the direct download from Amazon itself? I'm worried if I get the direct download I won't be able to use JSGME at all and I do plan on downloading mods for the game.(Though the only one I know i'll be using for sure is SH3 Commander.) So should I wait the couple of extra days for a physical version or download it direct from Amazon?

Either will do but I prefer having the disc...more easily transported to other systems that way.

As far as I know the Amazon download version works just fine with everything. That said, I'm a luddite who still doesn't trust dowload and always gets the disc.

Not only is having the physical disk a good idea, I find it handy to have burned-to-disk(s): the upgrade to V1.4, the GWX files, SH3 Commander files and since I have a old SH3 Starforce infected disk, the no-cd and Starforce removal files.
NOTE: If you purchase a new disk, through Subsim, it should already be at V1.4. Makes any reinstall easier. Salute !!! AD |
