[REQ] Unrealisticly noob Hydro range mod humble request

First of all let me introduce myself, as ive not done it before:

I´m a spanish player who started playing with subs in naval games like Battlestations Pacific on Xbox pretty much arcade, i-ve recently bought SH5 as my first subsim and i really like the look of it, being able to see the whole sub from inside is a thing i enjoy a lot and sinking ships is just... ,
the huge maps and detail of the subs operation is something i just was prepared for! I´m still playing on low reality settings, i only have activated the repair time and batteries/CO2.

The problem is that i cant seem to be able to find certain campaing objectives in time like finding the carrier and next the 5 armed merchants, i ve found them separetly in two campaign tries but i never have time to find the two on time, i must have somoethin wrong with my understanding of search patterns or missing some basic sub training.
I also havent got much time to start learning about real navigation and hydro targeting wich i just find amaizing they can do it (im pretty bad at maths), im using the select/deselect/fire system..
and i definitly like more to sink ships and watching the ocean with my crew than looking on a map and using time conpression on and on until i find something to sink...
I´m humbling requestiing requesting a minimod or some directions to how i could increase just the hydro range to be able to sweep large areas and find more fish!

I ve been searching the forums and most of the mods go in the opposite direction, i also remember one that was "unrealistic Uboat" i think it was called but i just need a sensor upgrade i´m fine with the rest, if someone could help me with this, i think it could help me loosen up my arcadeaddiction not so radicaly.

Thak you very much just for making mods, its such a different world from stock games!

Uncheck realistic sensors in the ingame difficulty options . See if that helps .

Thanks for answering! But... already done it
I really dont know what range i need, maybe double? As i understood it it was about 20km for lonely boats and 100km for convoys?
Maybe 2x or 4x? i just dont know, i just not used to a game this big!

Instead of making the game even more arcadey, try to adjust to higher realism settings. Trust me, the feeling of sinking a ship on higher realism settings is far more enjoyable and rewarding.

I agree with you and i indeed plan to do so, but i prefer to do it .
step by step, there just to many new things for me
I have some realism mods installed like IRAI and some others that tweak depth charge damage and so on, so im trying to be more o less real, and i hope to eventually understand the Tdc tutorials..
But the problem is that at the moment i.feel kinda lost in such a big ocean like.a drunkensailor going round and round....

I've managed to open the Sensors .Gr2 and merge it with the .sim with the editor as a tutorial suggest, and i think i found the hydrophone ( gsh9 or something like that, cant remember now) and a value that says max range which i think would be it, but i'm a bit scared to poke my fingers in there, and i still dont know what values i should put, or if im doing using the right path...
CAn someone give me a hand?

Hello again, ive been absent from the game a long time because i found it too difficult to find ships and i ended up playing a more arcade sub game.
Ive installed the game again, because i really missed it, and started a fresh campaign , but im having the same problem again, i dont have much time to play games after work, and in SH5 i spend most of it running in circles trying to find ships to sink
ive tried again with the .CFG files of the sensors, and editing the .GR2 with the Goblin editor but i am unable to increase the detection range of the hydrophones, ive googled many times trying to find a mod that would solve this for me but i had no luck...
So if someone could PLEASE help me with this, i would really really appreciate it, i dont wont to quit the game, cos i love the thrill i get when i hunt for a prey in this game, but its happening all again, too little time too much sea.

Thank you
