Get this; I picked up a large convoy on the radar in the bay just off Davao. I had a great setup for an ambush since they seemed to be heading for Davao and I was laying practically right in their path. There was no rush. I had plenty of time to gather all the data, heading, speed etc. then move into a favourable attack position. After that it was a simple matter of putting my feet up and wait. Eventually the convoy came steaming into sightand I rubbed my hands together in anticipation of a plentiful reaping and proceeded to make the final preparations; identifying designated targets, setting torpedos, doublechecking everything, etc. Then, literally two seconds before I was about to launch a pair of fish at my first target the whole convoy all of a sudden vanishes into thin air!
![]() ![]() I guess this happened because convoys de-spawns when they're close to port, and anyway I just thought it's a fun story about one of those moments of sudden bafflement followed by the feeling of "whatchagonnado" ![]() ![]() |
