Default Just got my SH2&3 to install and????

Just recieved my SH2&3 disk from amazon ( as advertised on this site -- also found all of my manuals and maps from the old days) and went through the install procedures.

My new "gaming computer" made by "ORIGIN" is a great rig so I installed it to my D drive ( my "gaming drive" a solid state drive of 120GB , using Win7 Home Premium) and all went well until I selected Play.

Some how the error statement "can not start in 3D" comes up.

I tried all sorts of work arrounds and nothing works. The game SH3 will not start!

Thank you in advance for your help.

Two things,

1.Have you tried lowering your resolution to 1024x768.

2.Have you dug through this thread http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=153900 ? The 3D engine error seemed pretty common, fortunately I avoided it but got stuck with starforce error instead.

I can not even get the game to start --- so I CAN NOT change to the resolution you suggest.

My NIVIDA drivers are up to date.

Do I have to change my resolution on my screen before I try to start the game?? If so --VERY WIERD!

My screen is a wide screen DELL 22".

Lets work this out!

Yes, changing the resolution on your monitor in windows tp 1024 x 768 seems to be what will at least get you going. Check out the windows 7 thread I posted though. There seems to be several "solutions" to the 3d error out there. You will probably just need to find the one that works for you.
