Default Kater is a bit too skinny

Kate! You want baby? First gain weight! More succinct.

The GDP of Britain is based more on what the royals are doing, than what their working man does. So buy her that nice dress, and hope Willy knocks her up a good one.

Monarchys are silly.

(I still love Prince Wills, he truly is a stand up guy, but his title means kaput to me, but he wears it well)

Are you so certain of this?I am fairly certain the the Royal Family does not own that much of a share in what affects the UK GDP and they don't cost the tax payer very much either.

If a title means nothing to you then rate how well the person wears it?

I am not a citizen of the U.K. but I can understand their ways.Make sure you don't say anything bad about the queen in front of any member of the British
military it might not turn out well.I have seen a few brawls between Americans stuck in a 1776 mentality and a loyal trooper and for no real reason either we have far too much in common.

I'd say Her Maj does bring in a fair bit of dosh from the tourist trade, she's one of our best trademarks after all.

I don't mind her, and I think if someone tried to abolish the monarchy they'd have to fight a percent sized portion of the country to do so...again. I certainly prefer the Royal family to the goons we have in number 10, but it's because the Kings and Queens have such limited power that we are able to like them rather than place them as the creation of all our ills as was the case four hundred years ago.

EDIT:

Ironic, because that's approximately the price of a first class stamp which usually has Her Maj on it.

I've always been of the opinion that given a choice between loyalty to the crown or the government, the vast majority of our armed forces would choose the former.

If we get the day off work when the baby is born then I'm all for the Royal family.

But in general, I think I agree with what Oberon says. If the Royals had any semblance of actual power these days I certainly wouldn't be comfortable with it, and whilst most people have a soft spot for the royal family over the shower in the house of commons, the shower is who the country voted for, and can get rid of in the next election. That is the critical thing.

But while the royal family are essentially posh, human shaped panda bears that bring in a certain amount of cash, let them be.

I'm glad it isn't me living in Buck house, though. Must be a bugger to heat.
