Default Verdammt weather!!!

Well guys I need to share this one with you... this game is amazing... so, I'm sitting submerged relatively close to Liverpool at 25 meters... weather is gray medium visibility...and wind had finally dropped to 6 m/s after 15 days...and I have a contact... pretty fast merchant coming closer... hydrophone plotting reveals course of 359 degrees but he is still far away and the mist prevents me to see him. So I surface and sprint on the T course towards him... after about 10 minutes... A-HA... there you are! It's the passenger/cargo still (as it seems) on the same course at about 325 degrees on my UZO... range about 10 KM. I'm starting to consider my deck gun because I don't want to risk being detected... maybe I can catch him but it will be in the nick of time, and I will had to use T1 because of the distance... so there is the possibility of detection and evasion maneuvers ... so I order manning the deck gun and carelessly swimming towards him shortening the distance at flank speed! At about 5 km I start pounding him... he catches fire... one hit, two, three, four... but something strange is going on...my bow starts to jump up&down more and more...as a happy rabbit... and suddenly my deck gun is no longer usable... WEATHER REPORT! WIND 11 m/s!!! I look to the sky... clouds are breaking apart and there is a bit of blue sky here and there! But I'm not giving up so easily... you are mine! Closer... closer... preparing torpedoes... measuring distance... WARSHIP SIGHTED!! Destroyer!! Alaaaaarm....!
I got away... but he did too...

Unfortunately weather changes in SH3, when they happen at all, happen instantly. In many instances they took the easy way out, and we suffer for it.

It wouldn't be SH3 unless crap weather ruined a kill. I consider Sea State 6 normal.

I got one for you.

I'm sailing around in the water with clear weather. I went to Periscope depth to look for contacts. (I am heading for Dover) Sonarman picks up a merchant contact at about 330. Long range. So i wait until nightfall. I set the TC to 1024x and get up to go to the bathroom. I spend a bit of time making my way back and find that it is now early morning. I went "screw it" and took a look thru the periscope. Fog. Dead fog. Like cant-see-100-yards-fog. I went decks awash to creep closer in Fog cover. Still only one merchant contact.

All of a sudden.

Destroyer spotted sir. 020. Short Range. Followed by some shell impacts and screaming watch crew. I was on the bridge. I literally ran right into a parked destroyer in Dover. I didnt last a full minute.

Indeed, my last guy who died was hunting a convoy, in bad weather, and then 300 meters away a DD comes out of the mist. I crashed dived, but my stern was blown to bits before I could get under water.

Yeah typical weather, I been crusin round for a days without a contact, brilliant weather, then when a convoy is located, and you order Flank Speed to intercept, set up in position for attack, the weather all of a sudden turns to ****...
Or when the convoy is a few hundred meters out of releasing that first eel, they decide to change direction

Default I remember...

When i was playing Stock, i had 3 weeks calm sea, used my deckgun allot till 1943. after that you have to stay away in good distance or cargo-ships start shooting holes in your boot...

but in 3.0GWX gold, lucky if you have 3 days calm sea to use the deckgun, otherwise using eals...
