Default Greetings and salutations, fellow buccaneers!

Were we all in a Port Royal tavern, I would sponsor a round of grog.

I've played strategy games all my life --- a not insubstantial life (not sure how it happened but I'm already 53!). I'm a US National Master in chess, but 53 is really too old for competitive chess. It may also be too old for video games, but if true, this point has eluded me.

Until now, my favorite video games were Civilization, Football Manager, and Silent Hunter 2. I bought Silent Hunter 4 about 3 years ago but couldn't get it running on my old box.

Alas, a new box has arrived and a new day begins.

So far in SH4 on normal realism settings, using the auto TDC, I've not survived past 5 patrols. My solution is to go full burn, 100% realism, in an old S-boat from Cavite.

Can anyone guide me to a good sound mod? I'm thinking I saw one somewhere with Pearl Harbor bulletins, etc., for the radio. Any other advice on mods would also be helpful. Thanks! --- and I'll chat with you soon in other threads....
