Hi gents. I made a test with the hydrophone and would like to know the opinion of the experten.
In the figure below: http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/9...ophonetest.jpg You can see my sub stationary heading 0 degrees, while a target crosses form E to W with exactly 90 degrees heading. (orange lines) Above that I represented in red the curve that fits all the plots made manually by hydrophone, by pinging the target. Observations: * The bearings given by hydro are always pretty accurate * The range not so. As you can see big error. Now, I would expect that those errors became smaller as the targets approaches, but on the contrary they get bigger. Was ping so inaccurate? And as you can see the hydrophone plot is pretty shaped, as if it was coded "canned" (no random errors on measures) I disabled my mods, and kept only TDW UI's and patch for hydrophone, and the results where exactly the same. Confused. |
