Here's some declassified patrol photos from an attack on a Rabaul bound troopshipp convoy. Three escorts, 3 liners/ passenger ships.

All lined up...torpedoes away!

First hit. Good Fish!

Ready to make the final plunge:
(looks a lot like a troopship the Puffer sunk!)

Beer's on the house!

I've found Rabaul to be a good hot spot for much of the war.

Here's the actual class. The ship was the Teiko Maru, sunk by USS Puffer Feb 22, 1944.
