Not quite sure how they managed this one, but hope that a) the damage is not too expensive and b) it doesn't sink at the docks because Harwich is a busy port and that'll really screw things up. Felixstowe will have to take the excess and that's running at capacity as it is.

EDIT: Come to think of it, it's bloody windy today, that probably didn't help docking...

Aye, one of the Wattisham birds was over our way a few days ago. Hard to believe that Wattisham SAR will be getting the chop by 2017. Still, at least we'll still have the WAH-64s.

EDIT: Just noticed this in the latest Beeb article:

The fire service said the ship's crew plugged the hole from inside and built a compartment with watertight doors to stem the leak.

Major kudos to the damage control parties of that ship.

Aye that's the plus about compartmentalisation these days...much better than those methods used in the days of the Titanic.
