Councils spend £100m on taxpayer-funded credit cards
Councils have spent tens of millions of pounds on taxpayer-funded credit cards with local authority executives and councillors treating themselves to first-class travel to foreign destinations and stays in five-star hotels, The Daily Telegraph can disclose.

Read all the links folks in the UK.

Not all councils info is out yet but you can check yours...

MP's are still at it after they were exposed back in 2009 and now our councils are doing the same.

I have noticed on my direct debit my council tax has gone up!

Excuse me!

Didn't this coalition government freeze council tax for 2011/12? I'm off to have words with my council about this.

How about we use those council credit cards, and then charge the government for it.

COUNCIL IS YET TO PROVIDE DATA
They got something to hide I wonder.

Yeah, the council tax is frozen, but the parish councils can ask for more, not sure if the emergency services can get more too.

On the upside, my council only spent £8000 (on things costing more than £500 - I wonder how many bills came in at £499?)

This has been going on for years but people are only noticing now because of the current government spending cuts.

On a personal note my council tax didn't change this year which is just as well considering services are being cut and not improved.

I notice my own council have yet to provide the data.
