Good way to start a civil war, not what I'm lookin for. Economic collapse is one thing, this is an entirely different matter. Open borders on both ends millions flooding in.

The only thing which Canada could profit from a union with the US are sensible weapon laws, in any other matter it would mean a regression.

Or rather I don't see how it would benefit Canada. We are not in a recession. Our housing sector is fine as are our banks. Our per capita debt is 1/3 that of the US. We have plenty of Oil, natural resources, clean water. Our crime rate is 1/10 that of the US. why on earth would we want to join the US?
Btw I am in Miami sipping a beer as I write this. ![]()

I have no numbers in my head which I could state without using a search engine, certainly more than in Europe. But it's a huge country, I don't think that the state can uphold its monopoly on violence (is this the right term? - we call it it here this way) in all areas, anytime, anywhere.

According to
http://www.gun-control-network.org/GF01.htm In Canada about 2.5 people per 100,000 In the US we are about 10 people per 100,000 In both countries guns are used more for suicide than for homicide
