Could we have an API please ?

Dear Sonalysts,

It might be fun to write a little program to generate different strategies for the simulation. In order to do that, one would need a (hopefully straightforward) way to get the ' status of simulation at time t ' in a computer friendly form, possibly just text in a file, and a way to send the relevant commands to the simulation (e.g. change course to ..., increase speed to ... activate sensor such and such). Since we dont care how fast it runs, this could possibly be just a text file for the status and possibly another text file with the commands.

Anyway, since I am doing work on genetic algorithms anyway for my other work, it would be amusing to see how well my little computer generated would be sub killer could do.
