I've decided I don't like the fact that my 40mm's go 'klink' 'klink' instead of 'boom' 'boom'. If you watch any youtube videos of a bofors firing, live ammo not blanks, they make a pretty formidable sound. What format are the sound files and where would I find the gun sounds? I'm hoping I can maybe even do my own foley work and record a more realistic sound for the 40mm and 20mm.

You need to use S3D to track through the guns sim file to get the effect.
Then track that all the way to the SDL and adjust things. It sounds (no pun intended) harder then it is. |

It is not only done by the SDL !
You have to clone the gunmuzzleflash for this weapon in the particles.dat. You need two different sounds, one for 20mm and one for 40mm. Take a look to FOTRS V2.0, there i did exactly these things. Regards Maddy
