Default How to make deck gun crew engage at long range.

Noticed even though deck gun has range well in excess of 4500 yards or so, crew wont automatically fire, they should if you order them too.How to fix this?

They should. Try this. Manually man the slots for the deck gun then go to battle stations. GO to the bridge and use the binocs zoom on your target and tap the space bar this should order them to fire at any range.

One thing. The stock game I believe uses meters to parce out maximum engagement distance. I think that is 5,000 meters. So if you are not going to man and fire the gun yourself the crew will not open fire until you close to 5,000 (5,468 yards)meters or less.

/data/cfg/sim.cfg

Note: adjusting the obvious variable contained therein, is a two way street.

There is a CrewAI.cfg file that also seems to have something to do with gun ranges. I haven't had the chance to play around with it yet. Does anyone know off the top of their head if this could be used to get the gun crew firing at longer range?
