wow!
this wasn't really in the news here, not even the story of the discovery of the explosives.

Quote:
from the article:

Bomb experts decided that burning down the house was the safest way to dispose of the large amount of hazardous bomb-making chemicals.
this is really unusual, can anyone elaborate why they don't send in a bomb squad?
Another issue is that I think that major evidence of the orign of the materials can be destroyed.

I thought it was an odd resolution as well.

I guess what there saying is that basically its not even safe to enter the building.

I dont know what kind of bomb making materials they had in there but it seems wierd to burn it.

Better to contain the threat than risk injury to others.

Glass jars of the explosive hexamethylene triperoxide diamine, or HMTD, were found Thursday as investigators searched the backyard of a home in the 1900 block of Via Scott, officials said. They described the substance as a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, hexamine, and citric or sulfuric acid.

Got it - watching as well. Here's hoping all that foliage is still wet, or we'll be hearing about yet another SoCal wildfire.

Watching too, I think...I've got the BBC streaming as well, so that might be affecting it. Still...let's hope they've got some hoses on standby.

Okay, I've been watching this house sit there for fifteen minutes now.

Let's see some action!

ps: I'm having fun watching the number of viewers steadily climb.

Hmm...

The demolition team all walked from their safe place in the street over to the house, or near there. Now they're all walking back.

11:53 (my time) Nope. They're fiddling with a garage door.

11:54 Now they're walking back.

11:56 Woop! There it is!

11:58 The garage door seems to be opening all by itself.

11:59 Wooo! She burnin' good now!

12:00 We just passed 2000 viewers. I was about # 1085.
