Default Question about Navagation Map SH4 1.4

Thanks in advance. When you click on an enemy vessel on the Map, what are the 3 grey circles that surround the vessel at different radii depending on type of vessel? I am assuming something like visual range, radar range, sonor range?? Especially the little short moon shaped arcs around the DD's?

I believe its Visual (Largest),Passive (Medium) and Active Sonar (Small) rings. At least thats the way it seems to me when i play the game.

In running RFB 2.0 and RSRD I notice two circles when aircraft are displayed. One small and one rather large. Any idea what they signify?
