Default Too Deep or Not Too Deep

My Cheif of the Boat is telling me he is impressed with the boat and it's welds, etc. He says he thinks she can easily go down to 200 meters.

But.. whenever I hit the 170 meter mark someone starts warning me that we are going too deep.

What gives?

You can still continue to descend, but at 20-30 meters lower if you keep that depth or go even lower, the hull will start taking damage, and eventually you'll sink

He "should" warn you. You're exceeding the test depth of the sub. The manufactor's warranty won't "cover" you beyond test depth!

I noticed in one of the .UPC files that the maximum depth for the VIIC/41 is 250. VIIC 200. I don't remember the values for the other boats though. I doubt that its less than 150 though.

My maximum depth for my boat is 199 as soon as i hit 200 i have only a short amount of time untill i start to take damage.

I must have the best built TypeVII B ever, I took it down to 260m and the hull didn't get damaged one bit. At that point the big depthmeter stopped working and I decided it was time to come back up.

The VIIC/42 will go to 260m and hold it as long as you didnt take any damage. I go to that depth everyday to avoid depthcharges that ive seen reach 220m. But not 260m
