Blocky chimney smoke?

I have a problem were the smoke coming from chimneys in docks has a blocky look to it.
Is this a driver problem?

Strangely enough, I get it as well.

Not too bothered, but it is a bit puzzling.

Get it on both modded and stock.

Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT, 257.21 drivers.

Specs: AMD Sempron 3000+ Processor 1.6Ghz, 2GB RAM.

Not super powered, but SH4 runs ok with it, even heavily modded.

Somehow you are missing the correct materials.dat file, so the sprite for the smoke is missing and you'll get a whole series of solid coloured squares instead.

The sprite is there but the smoke flickers and shows the squares.

You might want to just double-check your in-game graphics setting and/or your monitor settings. Has this occurred since you began running a mod, or recently updated drivers?
