The U-Boot Bunker is quite neatly done. Are they the same in each Atlantic harbor, or did they model them accurately one by one? I guess having one type is sufficient for a sim.
Can you access more rooms in there and walk around? And how about that gun the guy on the left has... I sense a game in a game... Secret Hunter V -- Return to Bunker Brunsbüttel... ;-)

Nope you are limited to your ship side of the dock. And thats it. You can't even get on your ship.. You have to go to an officer on the side to start your mission.

Its neat though, nice little touch. Fun leaving port too. The ports are very very well done.

Just watch out for the kamakazi ships... LOL>

Sadly it's just that one room. I would've loved an office (or two -- one for you and one for your commanding officer), bar, and other facilities, or even more dock rooms, but sadly, this is all there is. Maybe they can be modded in, or added by patches or x-packs.

When you dock at a harbour, the game goes into a loading screen (far as I remember), and then you're teleported to the inside of the pen, with the boat parked with its bow facing the exit (you don't have to actually dock, just get within range of the pen and hit "End Patrol"). You can talk to one officer to upgrade your boat or choose a custom torpedo loadout, and another to get a briefing, request a mission, and start your patrol. When you do, you're teleported onto the bridge and free to move the boat.

Funny thing is, even while you're walking around inside the pen, your crew will still be on the bridge, binoculars in hand -- sometimes there's even an "talk to me so my morale goes up, please!" thought bubble over the watch officer's head.

Biggest problem right now is the lack of fanfare when leaving/arriving. Heck, there's not even a screen at the end telling you how you performed in terms of objectives achieves, kills, renown gained, etc. Your commander says "Welcome home" when you go talk to him, and that's it.

Still, very nicely done.
