I must admit ...

As a "former" SH3 fan, I now must admit that SH5 with all the great mods that are available, is a fantastic game.

Sure, I still have some bugs (or conflicts with mods) but I am sure SH5 will be a great replacement for my 'good old' SH3.

The environment is (with mods) outstanding, using my headphones and Das Boot Sounds makes it brilliant. The atmosphere is incredible!

To all modders of SH5, thank you very much! I switched to SH5 and I feel like I'm Jürgen Prochnow from the original Das Boot movie.

Again thanks for all your efforts!

yes I agree.
The DRM, if that was gone it would make the game good enough.

This sounds a bit out there. The DRM really really annoys me. Ive even bought two copies. One download and one in the box. So you cant say i dont support the sim.

I loved playing SH3 with all the mods. And i could load it on my laptop and play it on international flights when i fly around the world.

But can i do this with SH5. No. because if your 38,000 feet over the pacific ocean on a 14 hour flight with 14 hours to do some great gaming - you dont have an internet connection.

It is already hacked on the net. 15 year old son even got me a copy. So big waste of time boys.

Trouble is that i want to keep it simple. I pay for games, movies, music. i dont steal.

Others steal, and are rewarded. I dont, and i am punished.

But big thankyou to all the modders!

See, I told ya that the modders had already pulled off a miracle. And, there is only one direction from here, and that is up.

Yes, that's why I wrote "I must admit", I can understand the DRM issue (I hate it!), but I think - and hope so - that Ubisoft will release a SH5 without DRM.

I bought my last SH3 DVD (patched 1.4) on Amazon for a few bucks in 2009 and starforce free. I hope Ubisoft will release SH5 in the same way and (if possible) bug free.

BTW, DRM is already hacked. No need to go on with that specific security type!

Hear! Hear!

I also found it hard to tear myself away from SH3+GWX when I first started "playing" SH5. Now, with the patches and a nice, juicy list of terrific mods from these great SubSim modders, I am in U-boat heaven and not looking back!

Realistically, they are too deep into this type of DRM, invested way too much, made too many promises to their board and shareholders. They won't admit defeat too easily. Certainly not in the near future. Regardless of whether DRM is ineffectual and doesn't do what it says on the tin. It alienates the honest paying customer.
