Colds and asthma do NOT mix well

Yes thats right i have athsma. I rarely ever, EVER have to use my inhaler (maybe once every 6 months) but getting a COLD and having asthma is a match made in hell. even though i have sort of come and go once in a while type asthma, when im sick it gets BAD.

You see, it always starts out with a sore throat and/or runny nose. The next day, the sore throat is gone but now i got a CLOGGED up nose. And after that it goes WAAAAY downhill.

Having asthma sucks intensely. but, since i rarely ever have breathing problems once in a blue moon i dont care. but getting sick is whe asthma shows its razor sharp fangs.

Asthma makes you more prone for mucus. you see by the third night, the clogged up snot travels down, down,down until its in the recesses of my lungs. now this is just inconvenient for anyone else, but its HELL for me.

Simply put, i cant breath. I have to do TREATMENTS (20 minutes of inhaling albuterol through a mask. a machine pumps air through a tube up in the mask/medicine container causing the albuterol to form into mist which is inhaled, opening up your lungs). its such a pain in the ass, those treatments. its SO tedious. 20 minutes might not sound bad, but trust me it is.

The machine thrums the entire time (making a helluva lot of noise), plus theres the HISSSSSSSSS of the mist, and combined its like nails on a chalkboard to me. Not to mention you have to actually concentrate on taking deeeeep breaths, and all the while looking like a luekemia patient.

and these treatments dont help for long (3 hours). so in 3 hours im back to wheeeezing and hacking trying to get it out of my lungs.

But i cant take another treatment, i have to wait 5 hours between treatments. so 2 hours of more wheezing and hacking just to get another 20 minute tedious treatment. not to mention the clogged nose, who in your sleep piles in more mucus into my lungs, so any progress youve made with hacking any of t up is futile.

so here i am. day 6 of my misery, and im almost free of this damn cold.
