Upper on that scale makes you an authoritarian. Not that Stalin is upper, and left, and Hitler is simply slightly right of Stalin (calling nazis "right" is a case where modern standards are apparently based on Stalin's own attacks on his enemies (fallen out fellow travelers were often painted as "right" by the Soviets to discredit them, even if they were simply another branch of communism.
Lower left is basically an adult who wants to live as a child their whole life as far as I can tell, with The State™ as mommy and daddy (weak-willed parents who won't spank, perhaps—vs the upper right, where many failing result in death). Lower right is someone who favors total freedom from government interference. I'm far right, a little below Y=0 (-1 or -2, it's been a while). |

What is left and right? I consider myself ABOVE
![]() results the same as before more or less: Mahatma Gandhi would love me ![]() I consider myself above since I've come to know what's possible, the world is certainly not enough for me LoL, the catch is I don't feel worthy of everything either but that could probably the biggest miracle of all. Cheers to the very best of life, the God damn most ambitious goal a man could ever hope to get LOL. Slim chance but I'm insane so . . .

heh I'm
Economic Left/Right: -6.00 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.18 According to that chart I am Nelson Mandela I think I got so far in the left direction as I don't trust corporate entities to manage themselves for the benefit of the society they are in, I am pro choice, and pro equal rights. Plus I care about the environment. But I don't trust the government a whole lot either and think they need to be closely monitored too (especially when government and big business get in bed together), and don't like the government telling me how to live my life too much (though some governance and law is necessary for the good of society). |

Many of the questions are very poorly worded, IMO.
For example: A significant advantage of a one-party state is that it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system. How did you answer this? I think that it IS an advantage of such a system in terms of control of "progress," but agreeing strongly probably ranks you as supporting such an un-democratic system. There are others where a factual answer (I strongly agree that the sky is blue) can get you screwed up. I strongly disagreed with this question for that reason, even though I think that it IS factually true. WTF does: Some people are naturally unlucky. mean? I strongly disagreed, but do they really mean that some people are born into "unlucky" conditions (poverty, war, etc)? <shrug> Or: Those with the ability to pay should have the right to higher standards of medical care. The RIGHT to higher standards? So I think that people with the ability to pay DO have higher standards of care, but it's not a right either way. There is no right to healthcare. So how do I answer? I can strongly disagree, because I don't think healthcare is a right for anyone, or I can strongly agree because I think that you get what you pay for—and should. |

I'm left slightly low, I guess I'm a Libertarian leaning towards communist, according to the chart I'm around where Gandhi and Mandela are placed.

I've done this compass stuff fairly extensively, both in school and in various discussions, so I won't do another questionnaire on that one again. I know that I'm very far left economically, and close to neutral (slightly libertarian) socially. Which I guess puts me somewhere between utopian socialists and social libertarians.
Which yes, does make me fairly hardcore to a classic definition of commie ![]() |
