Default Lifeboats & debris breaks screen capture w/hi-res fix.

OK, through trial and error, I believe I have discovered what is causing some people to crash to desktop (CTD) when using the hi-rez mod.

Here are the mods I had installed, with the hi-res mod, and I was able to take screen captures using either PrtScrn or Ctrl-PrtScrn:

GWX - 16km Atmosphere
GWX - Enhanced Damage Effects
GWX - Main Movie - 'Das Boot'
Hitman Optics for GWX3 v.1
Real Depth Charge
Torpedo damage Final

However, once I add LifeBoats&Debris_v4, attempting to screen capture results in a CTD.

I really like the lifeboats and debris, and I really like the hi-res mod, and I really like taking screen captures.

Can anyone make them all play nice together?

I use both the Res Fix mod and Lifeboats & Debris and have no problems taking screenshots, using the PrintScreen key as noted in the Res Fix readme. I've been running Res Fix for almost as long as I've been playing and it has never caused any problems for me with any combination of other mods.

I don't use it to run the game in a widescreen aspect ratio, though, I don't know if that makes a difference.

If you don't already have a screen capture utility, try the trial version of 'fraps' and see if that resolves the issue.

Good idea, Jim! I think I'll just buy FRAPS to make my screen caps, assuming it works OK when I try it out.

Strangely, I have installed FRAPS but when I hit the key for taking a screen shot no file is created.

I have emailed the FRAPS people to see what they have to say.

When you installed it did you configure it to store the images in a pre-determined folder?

Mine go to F:\Fraps

Where is the hi-rez mod?
I did look at the files for Life Boats version 4 and saw a few things that could be corrected.
But the issues should not cause a CTD in normal cases.

Also, what are your settings for the hi-res mod?
I can try to duplicate the problem and adjust from there.
(It would also allow me to assure the newer stuff I'm working on is OK)
